A Note from Ceil:

“When deciphering observations of my own actions and my dealings with the world around me I reflect on my interaction with live insects. We are all specimens.

Similarities do overlap. I hunted insects, killed them and pinned them into my junior high school bug collection. Years later I saw these adolescent. actions in another light where I became the one ruthlessly pinned to my bed with the onset of severe Rheumatoid Arthritis.

Another life experience:

An investment in our Olive Depot market in NYC fails, we lose our life’s savings i.e.. our web is wiped out. My garden spiders showed me the solution: spin a new web. Thus, I painted “The Web Spinner” surrounded by raspberries, my visual empowerment to move on.”
